1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Through Proverbs 10 (page 810)

Praise the LORD!  I am catching up after that tent revival.  Thank you for having patience with me!
Psalm 114
Mountains skip?  I suppose that isn't any harder than dividing an ocean.

Psalm 115
Verses 12-18 are my favorite Psalms so far.
He is our help and our shield.

Psalm 116
:6 - The LORD preserveth the simple
:15 - Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints
Job's Psalm and a Psalm for Widowed people

Psalm 117
2 verses long!

Psalm 118
:15 - The voice of rejoicing and salvation [is] in the tabernacles of the righteous:
:17 - I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
Another perfect words chapter!
:22 - Cornerstone prophecy
:25 - SEND NOW PROSPERITY!!!

Psalm 119
[I am going to read this chapter in four parts:  44 verses per part.]
I heard that every verse in this chapter mentions the commandments, testimonies, ways, word, laws, and/or precepts of God...let's find out!

Part A:  Verses 1-44
:36 -  Good call.   Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
ALEPH, BETH, GIMEL, DALETH, HE, VAU = counting, perhaps?
So far, yes.  Every verse mentions God's law/word/etc.
Part B:  Verses 45-88
:45 -  And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. Walking with God sure does liberate one from the world!
ZAIN, CHETH
:64 - Companionship is in the law of God!
Part C:  Verses 89-132
LAMED, MEM, NUN, SAMECH, AIN, PE,
Part D:  Verses 133-176
TZADDI, KOPH, RESH, SCHIN, :165 -  Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
TAU

Yes, it is true.  Every verse speaks of God's wonderful law, etc.  Wow.  It is so great to be back in my Bible study after that tent revival!  It will be intense these next few weeks as I do double time to catch up!

Psalm 120
Deliverance is required for lying.
:4 - coals of juniper?

Psalm 121
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

I have always loved this Psalm...and there must be a song with it somewhere, but come to think of it, don't think I know one.

Psalm 122
:3 - Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:  I pray this for my life in New Jerusalem.  Also praying for peace in New Jerusalem.

Psalm 123
Eyes must wait on God.  Wait on His vision?  Wait on His picture?

Psalm 124

Psalm 125

Jerusalem is surrounded by mountains.  Didn't realize that.

Psalm 126
:6 - He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].
Perhaps when things are small, but real and hopeful for us- like an idea (precious seed) it is sorrowful.  But when we reap the benefits, it's shouting time!

Psalm 127
God must build the house, and children are a gift - like arrows.

Psalm 128
Olive plants around the table are somehow a blessing.

Psalm 129
Affliction.

Psalm 130
Mercy and redemption.  Yes we know David knew these attributes of God in action.

Psalm 131
Quiet your soul.

Psalm 132
:17 - I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
:8 - Arise, O LORD, into thy rest
o the glory of your presence

Psalm 133

Unity, Oil running down, dew of Hermon

Psalm 134
This was one of my favorite songs we sang in Voices of Praise, the Gospel choir I was in at UNT.

Psalm 135

:4 - God has a peculiar treasure...Israel!

PRAISE HIM!  BLESS HIM!

Psalm 136
For His mercy endureth forever.  I think this was one of those recitations we used to do occasionally in church growing up.  The pastor got to say the changing part, and we always had to say "For His mercy endureth forever."

Psalm 137
A picture of sadness- hanging one's harp on a willow tree.

Psalm 138
:2 - for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name And HE does have many names, and many words!
:8 - The LORD will perfect [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. The first time I heard this verse was in Zambia when Bishop Nellie preached this verse with a great anointing.

Psalm 139

:13 - God possesses my reigns.  Good.

Psalm 140

:12 - I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, [and] the right of the poor.Psalm 141
Keep me, God.

Psalm 142
Another one written in the cave.
:7 - Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: So that is why everyone can't praise Him.
Psalm 143
David prays for himself a lot.

Psalm 144
Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight:Hard for some, but here it is plainly.  God taught David to fight.  Literal war.  I think if one is to learn of war anyway, it is best that God be the teacher.

Psalm 145

Psalm 146
Hope and help are in God alone.

Psalm 147
Good things God does.
Psalm 148
Praise Him!
:8 - Fire, hail, snow, vapour, and stormy wind fulfill God's word.
Psalm 149
Sing a new song.  Good idea.  Especially if the old one was sad.  Or just old. I think our song can also be our "story", or that thing we say about ourselves when we meet new people.  Then we can sing "This is my story, this is my song, praising my Saviour all the day long!"

Psalm 150
Dance for praise is commanded!
Proverbs 1
Father writes Psalms, Son writes Proverbs.  Praise births wisdom.
:19 - Perhaps one of the verses used to define gambling as a sin?
:22 - Why I believe it is okay to be a faith woman of God and still be intelligent.
:33 - "quiet from fear of evil"- I ponder this because when afraid, people tend to be very vocal about it.  "I have a fear of ____(whatever)___"  So wisdom quiets one's fears.

Proverbs 2
:3 - Cry out for understanding!
:7 - buckler = shield http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H4043&t=KJV

Proverbs 4
:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing.
:18 - I am reminded of a sweet compliment I got last night, that when this person looks at me, they just see sunshine.  And alright, let's see that perfect day come!  But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Proverbs 5
Talking about the strange woman.

Proverbs 6
:1-8 - Be careful of the friends you make
:16 - 19 - It seems that if there were 7 "unpardonable sins" this would be them.
:23 - reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life:

Proverbs 7
Again, warnings against the strange woman.  Perhaps the opposite of "Wisdom," which is personified as a female.  Interesting that Solomon spent so much time on this subject, as it is clear he had many women in his life...and was led astray by them himself.
Proverbs 8
:27 - Columbus could have known a lot sooner that the earth was a sphere...
Proverbs 9
:7 - Rebuking a wicked man earns you a spot or blemish---you can't have that.  (Ephesians 5:27 - I know, we're not there yet...)  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
:10 - I feel a sermon coming on...we always hear the first part of this verse, but not the second.  The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding.
:13 - clamorous = 1) to murmur, growl, roar, cry aloud, mourn, rage, sound, make noise, tumult, be clamorous, be disquieted, be loud, be moved, be troubled, be in an uproar

a) (Qal)

2) to murmur (fig. of a soul in prayer)
3) to roar

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H1993&t=KJV
Proverbs 10
:3 -  The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish  ~ Very good to remember...especially when one feels spiritually starved.
:12 - Again, half a verse that is quoted with the other half left out:  Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
:18 - This sounds like the old "not" jokes to me...such as "That's great!  NOT!!"  Hiding hatred with lying lips.  Sarcasm.  Cynicism.  Lying and hatred.
:22 - The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.  I love this verse!
:26 - I wonder who OT Bible people would consider "slothful" in 2010.  No long walks, mules, camels, ox carts, etc....well, for some of us.  And how is vinegar to the teeth?  I get the smoke in the eyes analogy.
:27 - Fearing God lengthens your life!
This Proverb appears to be dedicated to wise speech and silence instruction.

a) modern 'San'

:60 - Shiloh = "place of rest"
1) a city in Ephraim and temporary home of the Ark of the Covenant and the Tabernacle, the place where Samuel grew up

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H7887&t=KJV
:68 - Since Judah is the chosen tribe and their inheritance was Mt. Zion, is that why it holds all the glory?
Mount Zion (Hebrew: הר צִ×™ּוֹן‎, Har Tsion) is an elevation west of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Jewish scriptures apply the term "Mount Zion" to the Temple Mount or the City of David, both located on this elevation. For Jews the term "Zion" became a synecdoche referring to the entire city of Jerusalem and the Land of Israel.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Zion

Psalm 79
For when you feel outcast
Psalm 80
Shepherd of Israel - different name for God
Psalm 81

:7 - in the secret place of thunder
Psalm 82
:6 - I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. ~A verse that most of Christianity seems to somehow be ignorant of. (See John 10:34 where Jesus quotes this verse)

Surrounded by darkness, praying to God
Psalm 89

Psalm 90
God is my house!  So is the tent!
3 Score years and 10 = 20x3=10=70, 4 score = 80.  Looks like life-expectancy came down since Moses and the 120 number.
:17 - I need God to do this...establish the work of my hands.
Psalm 91

Psalm 92
Sabbath Psalm
:13-:14 - Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
Psalm 93
5 Verses!
God's Clothes.
Psalm 94

Psalm 105

:15 - Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm

Psalm 109
:6 - 7 - Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
~Man, David was good and very specific about cursing his enemies! That was before Jesus said we had to pray for them. I guess he was praying for them, but not good things.
Psalm 110

:4 - The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
It's amazing how little we read about Melchizedek (Melchisadek, Melchisadec) in Scripture, and yet so much NT is devoted to him in Hebrews....I know, not there yet.  Can't wait.  Maybe next year we'll do the New Testament in a year.
Psalm 111
:10 - The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.
Psalm 112
Fearing the Lord = wealth and riches = favour and lending = unmovable

I used to love singing that song "From the Rising of the Sun" at the Dawson McAlister conferences!  We would get to hold hands with our neighbor during that song.  What ever happened to him?

Here's Dawson!

Through Psalms 70 (page 750)

Psalm 22
:1 - Either David is prophesying Jesus' words on the cross or Jesus quotes David on the cross...or both.
:28 - For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.
~This is a good Psalm to help yourself out of a droop.  Acknowledge how bad things are and then how good God still is, and that He is still in control.

Psalm 23
The ever famous Psalm.  I have just recently fallen in love with verse 6 as a declaration.
:6 - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 24
:3 - the hill of the LORD rather than the tabernacle or house of God
So many songs from just 10 verses!  Here are 3 I know and like.

Psalm 25

A song about waiting on God.

:14 - The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
God has secrets.

Psalm 26
:8 - LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
~Me too.

Psalm 27
**See Darrell Evans song on Psalm 18
:5 - pavilion - thicket, lair, booth http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H5520&t=KJV

~Neat to think of God hiding me in his den (lair) since he is the Lion of Judah, He should have an amazing lair!
:10 - When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

~My prayer for those children in broken homes...especially those close to my life...that they would know this of their God.
:11 - Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
~Simplicity is great!  It's ok to have a simple life.  Complications of too many agendas give footholds to the enemy to make us think like the world and compare our life to those without God.
:13 - [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
AMEN!!!

Psalm 28

:2 - holy oracle = room holding the ark of the covenant = holy of holies http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H1687&t=KJV
**I believe there is a revelation behind this.  Several, in fact.

:3 - which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief [is] in their hearts.
I think we've all known a few of these.
:4 - This typifies what I love about David's Psalms.  This kind of verse is not the one we use in modern songs.  How can you sing praises in the middle of telling God to get your enemies?  I love it!
:9 - Don't often think of being God's inheritance.  Interesting thought.

Psalm 29
God's voice of power:
is on the waters

full of majesty
breaks cedars
makes mountains skip like a calf
divides the flames of fire
shakes the wilderness
makes the hinds to calve (deer to dance)

Psalm 30

Psalm 31
:5 - Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
~Well, Jesus quoted the first half of this verse

:8 - thou hast set my feet in a large room.
~I know how this feels. Hard to explain, but reminds me that there are always more people to reach...not to get stuck in a rut with just a few people! The world is so much bigger than petty things!

Psalm 32

Compass references throughout. :2 - Having no guile (sarcasm) brings you blessing.  Unfortunately, this causes one to be mistaken for being simple minded or slow thinking, since the world is so full of sarcasm.
:7 - Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

Psalm 33

David speaks as "we" and "our" instead of "I".

Psalm 34
A good intro or benediction to any Holy Ghost service!

Contentment emphasized.
:18 - The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
:19 - Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psalm 35
:3 - David speaks of a salvation for the soul before one was known through Jesus.
:13 - I humbled my soul with fasting

Good reason to fast.
:23 - It takes a bold heart to tell God to stir up thyself
t
Psalm 36

You should be able to push the white arrow in the middle of these picture to watch the videos.  If it doesn't work for you, let me know.  Please watch this one!  Powerful!  I cried!!!
:8 - I am believing for my own fat house.

Psalm 37
Keywords for this one:

meek, abundance, peace, laugh, upright, conversation, steps, ordered, delight, blessed, deliver

Psalm 38
Repentance.  Penance.  Remembrance.

Psalm 39
Sad song.

Psalm 40
Many have sung it.  No one like Petra.

:7 - Lo I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me to do thy will...also a song but no video found for it.  I'll keep looking.

:9 - David preached.

Psalm 41
Considering the poor is important.

And then the chapter takes a weird turn towards justice for enemies...again.

Psalm 42
Ever wondered what a panting deer actually looks like?  I've sung the song "As the Deer" so many times...

Psalm 43
:5 - God is the health of my countenance

Psalm 44
Selah  = to lift up, exalt; a technical musical term probably showing accentuation, pause, interruption http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H5542&t=KJV

Praise Break!  This is what one looks like, Mom:

It is very appropriate for this clip to be called "God can turn it around" because that is what David wants God to do in this Psalm.

Psalm 45
:9 & :13 - kings daughters - A nice sounding ministry name....

Psalm 46
Since this Psalm was to the sons of Korah, "though the earth be removed" takes on a whole new meaning...a literal one.
:4-:5 - There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
~I love that river!

:7 - God of Jacob - I wonder when people refer to God as being "God of Abraham," that they are remembering how God manifested his power for Abraham?  In this case, how He manifested his power for Jacob?  Or is it that He has been God since their ancestors?
:10 - Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
~Famously quoted.  Often.  For obvious reasons.  Peace.

Psalm 47

:2 - terrible - would be better translated "to be awed" http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H3372&t=KJV
:9 - the shields of the earth belong unto God - of course, it all belongs to God, but this will help me in prayer for God to use things of the earth to shield me when necessary
~Here is a neat resource.  It is called Cyber Hymnal and you can look up hymns by book of the Bible!  This is the link for the hymns from the Psalms:

http://www.hymntime.com/tch/scr/scriptur.htm?http://www.hymntime.com/tch/scr/Psalms.htm

Psalm 48
:2 - on the North side of Mt. Zion is the city of the great King
Beautiful for situation - o yes, He is beautiful for Every Situation!!!

:11 - daughters of Judah
:12 - towers can also be interpreted as pulpits
Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the pulpits thereof. http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H4026&t=KJV
***This will preach!

Psalm 49
Good chapter when thinking of posterity, legacy, and generations to come.

Psalm 50

:5 - Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. ~Makes one want to sacrifice something to be gathered to God.
~A prophetic Psalm where David writes as God speaking :22 - Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

~I dedicate this verse to all those who don't know the warring side of God.  This is close to my heart because of my precious brother in the military and a cross given to him made of bullets.  I am also reminded of when Jesus sat down and made a whip to teach those salesman a lesson at the temple.  And what about the arc angels with swords?  And the riders on the horse in Revelation?  I digress...ahead of myself (we're only in Psalms).  And the battle is not ours, but the LORD's.  How can it be His if He won't fight?  God bless the military.  God bless the Navy.  And may they remember who fights on their behalf.~

Psalm 51

:10 - Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

~Always an appropriate prayer.
:13 - Notice that sinners are converted when we are clean.  Hmmm.  Not by saying the right prayer.  Hmmm.  Or being baptised correctly....or going to the "right" church...HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

:17 - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
~Interesting that David had this spiritual perspective even when those kinds of sacrifices were still being offered and required.
Zion = parched place & is another name for Jerusalem, especially in the prophetic books http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H6726&t=KJV

Psalm 52
Talk to the tongue!
:7 - Although David, I am sure, was rich, warned against trusting in the abundance of riches rather than in God.  So you can have both.  Riches and the wisdom to trust in God.

Psalm 53
:1 - Again, atheists/agnostics, according to the Bible, are FOOLS!

Psalm 54
A prayer for Deliverance from enemies

Psalm 55
:6-:7- reference to Noah's dove?

:13 - betrayed by a friend

Psalm 56
:8 - Does God bottle our tears?

:13 - walking before God in the light of the living
~I like collecting references to life, since we so often battle peoples' desire for death that they may meet God.  Go ahead and meet Him, walk with Him in life!

Psalm 57
I love the details given about when each Psalm was written, sometimes where, and sometimes who it was written for.  This time it was written in a cave in hiding!

Psalm 58

On wickedness & vengeance

Psalm 59
On God as my defence and refuge

Psalm 60
valley of salt - where a lot of smiting took place
:3 - drink the wine of astonishment
Begins as a prayer for healing from brokenness.  David talks himself right into faith again...the ending is confidence that they will do valiantly for he shall tread down our enemies.   I believe in talking through doubt, weakness, and sorrow to work our faith through to the light of faith and life! Like spiritual weight lifting...but it's weight uplifting!

Psalm 61

The song I relate to this song is actually by a Jamaicaan!  Carlene Davis wrote this version and the only video I could find was a wedding video!  Fun!

:4 - Selah is the word H5542 in the Psalms, but in other places in the bible the word Selah is from H5554, which means "the rock" or Petra, the chief city!

Psalm 62
On telling your own soul to wait on God...trust not in oppression...power belongs to God

Psalm 63
On finding God in dry places

Psalm 64
insurrection = crowd

Psalm 65
Looking forward to Sion

Psalm 66
Make a joyful noise!

Psalm 67
:2 - That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. ~God is the only one who can truly be saviour for the health of ALL nations.  Hallelujah.

Psalm 68

Reminds me of my Messianic childhood!

:6 - God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry [land]. ~ A good thing to remember for solitary moments.  Believe God for His word that promises a family!  And freedom from chains!  And isolation for rebellious ones!

:20 - issues = 1) outgoing, border, a going out, extremity, end, source, escape
a) outgoing, extremity (of border)
b) source (of life)
c) escape (from death)
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.
~God owns the borders, extremities, sources of death. ***My new theme verse for believing for healing!  When you own anything, you have power over it!

Psalm 69
For when you've cried all you can cry...

Psalm 70
On when you feel like saying "Hurry up, God!"
