1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Through 1 Kings 13 (page 480 in my Bible)

Holy Ghost, please teach me as I read.
2 Samuel 23
Davids' last words.  Also another summation chapter.
:5 - he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all [things], and sure Amazing the confidence David has in God.
:6 - who are these sons of Belial = 1) worthlessness

a) worthless, good for nothing, unprofitable, base fellow
b) wicked
c) ruin, destruction (construct)
Obviously not a good thing because it was what people accused others of being when they didn't like them.
:13 - valley of Rephaim = giants, old tribe of giants http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?strongs=H7497

2 Samuel 24
:9 - 800K men in Israel, 500K in Judah.  That is a powerfully close number considering Judah was one tribe and Israel was the other 11!
:10 - David repented for counting the people
:13 - Choice of punishments.
:16 - Interesting that the angel of the Lord's location is recognized...and again it is crop related...this time not during harvest, but by the threshingplace

1 Kings 1
:1-:4 - Old King David couldn't get warm, so they found him a young virgin.  Ha!  Thank God for 2010!

:5 - Adonijahhttp://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H138&t=KJV not to be confused with Adonai, http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H136&t=KJVa name of God.
[Here is a beautfiul song I love called Adonai on youtube (you have to fastforward to 2:22 when the song actually starts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCv29tPOWjk ]
:9 - another stone with a name, Zoheleth = serpent http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H2120&t=KJV
where Adonijah slew sacrificial animals.  Just because gifts were made doesn't make the giver of them God's anointed priest or king.
:39 - Solomon is anointed king by Zadok
:50 - caught hold on the horns of the altar - an expression still heard today by people who also talk about praying it through

1 Kings 2

:34 - Benaiah killed Joab while he was in the tabernacle holding the horns of the alter (:28).

1 Kings 3
:5 - The Lord appears to Solomon in a dream, not by an angelic visitation, which seems to be the featured method of His appearing to this point.  Or His comings.

:26 - her bowels yearned upon her son - bowels = womb, compassion http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H7356&t=KJV so utterly descriptive of the emotion of this baby's mother

 1 Kings 6
:1 - Already it has been 480 years after Israel is out of Egypt!
I don't see God giving specific instructions to Solomon on measurements or design.  Perhaps Solomon was just birthed by God for this purpose and God wrote it in his heart ahead of time.
:7 - The only tradition I see followed here is that the sound of a hammer or ax or any tool was not heard in the house while it was being built.
:12 - God speaks.  Solomon is in the middle of building His house.  He gives no physical building instructions, only walking/living instruction.  If you build it, God will speak.

:19 - Oracle is used to interchangably for Holy of Holies

:28 -  2 more golden calves made to worship.  Tsk tsk.

1 Kings 13
I like the man of God in this chapter.  It is unfortunate that he was eaten by lions for disobeying God.  And it is unfortunate because accidental disobedience could happen to anyone, since he was deceived into a trap.  Thank God for MERCY!

Thank you God for mercy!  And thank you for your wonderful word.  Who has time for the rest of the books in this world?  The Bible is the best!
