1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Revelation 3
~According to Wikipedia, all 7 churches were in modern day Turkey!~  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_churches_of_Asia

Sardis = works have not been perfect
Philadelphia = kept the word of God's patience (the first that doesn't appear to be rebuked)
Laodicea = lukewarm-to be spewed out of God's mouth

Revelation 4
Stones & precious metals/treasures mentioned:  jasper, sardine, emerald, gold, crystal
:5 - 7 lamps = 7 Spirits of God
This picture is not totally accurate to the description of the 4 beasts, but it epitomizes my doubt as to the literal translation of this book.

Revelation 5
:1 - 7 seals on 1 book
:6 - Lamb with 7 horns and 7 eyes = 7 Spirits of God

Revelation 6
1st seal = white horse release - conquering and to conquer
2nd seal = red horse release - power to take peace from earth
3rd seal = black horse release - balance in his rider's hand
4th seal = pale horse named Death release = Hell followed with him
5th seal = martyred souls under the altar cry out for justice and receive white robes
6th seal = earthquake, sun darkened, moon reddened, stars fall to earth like figs from a fig tree, heaven departs like a scroll rolled together, everyone on the earth hides

Revelation 7
4 angels, 4 corners of earth, 4 winds
:4 - 144,000 sealed of all the tribes of the children of Israel.  Again, if one part is figurative (or symbolic, that sounds better I suppose), it is likely the rest is...as God is very consistent.  No matter who says only 144,000 will be ok, it's not theirs to say.

Revelation 8
7th seal = half hour of silence in heaven (again, a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, so 30 minutes could still be significant in human time.)
:6 - 7 angels with 7 trumpets
1st angel sounds 1st trumpet = hail, fire, blood, 1/3 trees burnt, all green grass burnt
2nd angel = great burning mountain cast into the sea, and a 3rd of the sea becomes blood
3rd angel = big star (Wormwood) falls from heaven upon a 3rd of the rivers - making them bitter
4th angel = 1/3rd part of sun, 1/3rd part of moon, 1/3rd part of stars darkened

Revelation 9
5th angel = star with key to the bottomless pit fell from heaven to earth = locusts and scorpions loosed
:7 - Locusts as big as horses wearing crowns of gold and having human faces.  Look out Stephen King!
:11 - Abaddon (Hebrew), Apollyon (Greek) = angel king over the bottomless pit
6th angel = loosed the 4 angels bound in the river Euphrates = killed by fire, smoke and brimstone out of their mouths

Revelation 10
:3 - 7 thunders
:7 - I believe this is the 7th angel that has one foot on land and one on the sea that says time is no longer.
7th angel sounds = mystery of God finishes

Revelation 11
:4 - 2 olive trees, 2 candlesticks
:15 - 7th angel NOW SOUNDS = The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.
~Although I would like to put this video at the end, it fits better here.~

Revelation 12

Revelation 13

Revelation 14
:6 - An angel preaches the gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.

Revelation 15
7 angels, 7 plagues, 7 golden vials of the wrath of God

Revelation 16
1st vial poured = sore on people with mark of beast and who worshiped his image
2nd vial poured = every living soul died in the sea
3rd vial poured = rivers and fountains of waters became blood
4th vial poured = sun becomes torch that burns people
5th vial poured = on seat of beast = became dark and painful
6th vial poured = on river Euphrates - water dried up
3 unclean spirits like frogs come out of dragon's, beast's, and false prophet's mouths
7th vial = in the air - voice said It is done.

Revelation 17
:9 - 7 heads = 7 mountains that the woman sits on
:10 - 7 kings
:12 - 10 horns = 10 kings

Revelation 18
Babylon Destroyed.

Revelation 19
Marriage Supper of the Lamb
:19 - testimony of Jesus = spirit of prophecy
:18 - Menu of the Marriage Supper = flesh of kings, flesh of captains, flesh of mighty men, flesh of horses and their riders, flesh of all men

Revelation 20
The devil is thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21
Pictures showing the Great White Throne.  I don't intend for these to be literally what I interpret will happen or portray that somehow this will even remotely describe it.  I merely post these pictures to summarize these Revelation chapters...because it's as if words aren't appropriate to comment...and I feel like saying READ IT!
:7 - He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
:12 - New Jerusalem has one wall with 12 gates, 12 angels, names of the 12 tribes if Israel
~I am not going to post a picture of this because it is completely irrelevant.  In fact, when I was in youth camp, I walked out of a class where the teacher was trying to draw this on a whiteboard and telling us that heaven is some kind of gigantic cosmic cube.  That's when my Amos 8:11 famine in the land began.  I just had to get out of there and go walk in the mountains with God!  God has to be more spiritual than that, right?  He is Spirit, after all.  A giant cube?  Come on.~
Foundations of the wall of the city:  jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst

Jasper
Sapphire
Chalcedony

Emerald

Sardonyx
Sardius

Beryl

Topaz

Chrysolite

 Chrysoprasus

Jacinth
Amethyst

Revelation 22
The River of Life.
The Tree of life on both sides of the river.

:17 - And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
:18 - If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, [as John introduced this prophecy in the first chapter of Revelation] God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.~My final comment is that it is clearly speaking here of the book of the prophecy of Revelation.~
:21 - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

PRAISE THE LORD I MADE IT!

Here's some extra maps just because I like maps:

p.1560 Through Revelation 2

James 3
:1 - masters1) a teacher
                                        2) in the NT one who teaches concerning the things of God, and the duties of man
                                     a) one who is fitted to teach, or thinks himself so
                                     b) the teachers of the Jewish religion
                                     c) of those who by their great power as teachers draw crowds around them i.e. John the Baptist, Jesus
                                     d) by preeminence used of Jesus by himself, as one who showed men the way of salvation
                                     e) of the apostles, and of Paul
                                     f) of those who in the religious assemblies of the Christians, undertook the work of teaching, with the special assistance of the Holy Spirit
                                     g) of false teachers among Christians
:2 - For in many things we offend all.  If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.~Well here's another verse I didn't realize was in there.  One of the most awful feelings is to know that you've offended someone, I think.  And sometimes you don't even know what you said!  And sometimes it's not what you said, it's how you said it!  And sometimes it's their expectation of what you should or shouldn't say and you break that.  And still, you have offended them, and will receive the greater condemnation if you are considered the teacher (according to the previous verse.)
:17 - Wisdom from above is pure.

James 4
I think the best all around practical advice chapter I've read so far.  Full of quotables.
:2 - Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.~Check out the context on that one!  We've all been there I think--pulling teeth and putting up our dukes to get what we want, when really we just need to ask the right one.~
:4 - ...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?  Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.~Well, this ought to put the fear of God in us for being too worldly!  Or for trying to win the world by being like them.~
:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
:13-15 - Use the expression: If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this or that.

James 5
:4 - Sabaoth is not the same as Sabbath.  It is only used twice in Scripture -- here and Romans 9:29.
Sabaoth1) "Lord of Sabaoth"
a) Lord of the armies of Israel, as those who are under the leadership and protection of Jehovah maintain his cause in war
:13 - 15 - What to do when you're afflicted, merry, or sick.
:16 - Okay, this must be another misquoted scripture.  Confess your faults [not sins] one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1 Peter 1
Instead of being named for who the letter is sent to, this one is named for who wrote it.
:1 - This book is addressed to the strangers of many lands, not the church in one specific region, as previous letters.
:13 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;~Which does not have to be the end of physical life.~
:15-16 - Not only is it possible now to be holy, but it is commanded.
:22 - love one another with a pure heart fervently.
:25 - But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.~God's word is not just out there in outer space somewhere in another dimension.  Thank God!~

1 Peter 2
:4-8 - This passage is special to me because I see God doing a progressive work building His house, which are His people.  It is a progressive thing to him.  And the house I've grown up in has been a progressive thing also, so I have a concept of living in contentment while things are still a working progress (although I have to admit it isn't always easy.  But being lost and worldly without the voice and approval of God would be much harder.)
:5 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
:12 - day of visitation~I'm ready for one of these!
:13-16 - Obey the law of the land you're in.
:25 - Jesus is the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls!

1 Peter 3
:4 - ...even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.~Personally, I think this would be nice on the men as well as the women.
:15 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
:20-21 - Baptism is compared to the water that saved Noah's 8.

1 Peter 4
:1 - Being armed by the mind of Christ
:6 - For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.~In the Hebrew, there is no past tense to constitute the word "was".~
:8 - And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
:11 - If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.~One of my favorite sermons to preach.  Here it is (Just click the orange triangle in the middle to play):

:12-13 - Still working on being happy for trials.
:17 - For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

1 Peter 5
:2 - Peter gives the instruction Jesus gave him:  Feed the sheep.
:13 - Was Marcus Peter's natural son?  According to http://www.blueletterbible.org, Marcus was converted by Peter, which is why he is called his son.

2 Peter 1
:4 - partakers of the divine nature
:10 - ...give diligence to make your calling and election sure
:11 - ...an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
:19 - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

2 Peter 2
Of the unrighteous false teachers that despise government, are presumptuous, walk after the flesh, are of Balaam...who love wages of unrighteousness, and are wells without water.
:13 - These people are spots and blemishes.

2 Peter 3
If I had forgotten that Jesus said I would deny him and then did it, I would probably repeatedly advise others to remember, also.
:1 - I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance
:10 - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
:13 - New heavens and a new earth are coming after the day of judgment in fire (:7).
~References are made to the first earth being recreated after the flood, but that the next time recreation will happen by fire.~
:16 - Peter talks about how people don't understand Paul's writings and wrestle with them, which is destructive to those wrestlers.

1 John 1
The tangible Word of Life.

1 John 2
Walk in the light.  Darkness is in the past.  Don't love the world.  How to identify the antichrists.
:27 - But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1 John 3
:8 - The devil sins.  I guess that's pretty obvious, but never thought of it.
:9 - Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.~Some things just need to be quoted.  Often.~
:15 - Hating a brother is the same as being a murderer.
:20 - For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

1 John 4
How to discern the spirits.

:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John 5
:4 - For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.
:7 -  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
:8 -  And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

2 John 1
Written to an elect lady and her children!
:7 -  For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

3 John 1
To Gaius
:2 - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Jude 1
:3 - ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
:9 -  Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.~I love the message Dr. Harlo White preaches Battle in the Heavenlies...wherein he quotes this verse.  Here is a link to listen to some of his free mp3 audios:  http://harlowhiteministries.org/Radio-Mp3's-Transcripts.htm

:14 - Now we learn something the OT didn't mention about Enoch--that he prophesied!
:24-25 - Benediction!  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
~Jude appears to be a very essential book in the explanation of spots in the garment.~

Revelation 1
Ok, we begin the least understood book of Scripture.  It has been told to me that in addition to Harlo White, whom I mentioned in Jude, a preacher named Lynn Hiles also has a real grasp on this book from a spiritual perspective.  You can watch some of his videos free at www.lynnhiles.com (Click to go directly to his online free videos page http://www.lynnhiles.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=133 )

~It is interesting that John, who laid his head on Jesus' breast (showing the degree of love he shared with Jesus) is chosen to receive this intensely spiritual visitation.  After reading all the John books, I can also see how much John spoke of love.  Really loving God.  And that Jesus said of him If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? (John 21:22)~
:3 - Opening greeting calls this book this prophecy.
:4 - 7 churches, 7 Spirits
:11 - 7 churches of Asia to whom this prophecy is written:  unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
:12 - 7 candlesticks
:16 - 7 stars
:20 - 7 stars = 7 angels of the 7 churches

Revelation 2
:7 - The Tree of Life is back, as well as the paradise of God.
Ephesus = left their first love
Smyrna = some say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan
Pergamos = they had the doctrine of Balaam-to eat things sacrificed to idols & fornicate
Thyatira = they let Jezebel teach and seduce God's servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols
:17 - Hidden manna, white stone, new name that no one but the owner will know.

p.1530 Through James 2

Please remember to view online when forwarding or reading from a simple text email.  http://readingthebibleinoneyear.blogspot.com

2 Timothy 1
:5 – Faith in the grandma Lois, and mother Eunice—Timothy's maternal ancestry of faith!
:7 – For God hath not given the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.~Very famously quoted, for obvious reasons! I am sure that the spirit of fear is different than having the fear of the Lord.~

2 Timothy 2
:3 – Enduring hardness encompasses so many things. Such great advice still for today.
:14 – This should be part of the 10 commandments so people will remember it better! Don't strive or fight about words! Wow, again, we would have such fewer denominations if it weren't for word fights.
:22 - This gives me the impression that Timothy was a young guy...at least younger than Paul
:25 – Those that oppose themselves – still a hard road to hoe, as they say. When we oppose ourselves, no one can say anything right to us. This is, according to :26, the snare of the devil. We will be offended no matter what. And when someone is in that state, they oppose themselves. If they embraced themselves, they could embrace their siblings in Christ...Love one another as you love yourselves kinda thing. This is my take on the matter.~

2 Timothy 3
I wonder how many times of “last days” have been since Jesus? Or has this been a long stretch of last days?

2 Timothy 4
Another entire chapter I'd like to quote. Paul is giving final instructions to Timothy, as he says he's finished his race (:7)...telling him to Preach the WORD...no matter what!

Titus 1
:3 – Preaching manifests God's word!
:4 – Common Faith – One of my favorite messages is titled this, preached by Joyce Still. Http://www.joycestill.homestead.com
:15 – Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.~One of my favorite mantras is “All means all. What does that leave out?”~

Titus 2
Instructions for the elderly.
Instructions for young men and servants.

Titus 3
:5 – Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost~Another verse used to explain the plan of salvation.
:9 – Paul keeps instructing that long genealogies are useless. That must have been a thing back then to trace your lineage back to prove something.
:13 – Zenas the lawyer is requested

Philemon 1
So far, in all of Paul's letters (isn't it amazing, by the way, how many of them there are in the NT—considering his past) Paul introduces himself as Paul, an apostle of Christ, or Paul, a servant of Christ. This time, he introduces himself as the prisoner of Christ.
:10 – Onesimus is mentioned by Paul quite frequently, I've noticed. A book of Onesimus, perhaps, somewhere?

Hebrews 1
:3 – All things are upheld by the word of God's power.
:13-14 – Angel verses.

Hebrews 2
:10 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things; in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.~All those sufferings couldn't have happened before Jesus was born. Some had to happen on the earth. I fear to expound on this because I know the religious mind.~

Hebrews 3
Remember the builder of the house.
:7-8 – Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness
:13 - The deceitfulness of sin hardens us.

Hebrews 4
:9-10 – There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
~Maybe Onesimus wrote this book! It is mostly about rest, I've noticed. On my first long fast, I read this book and Revelation.~

Hebrews 5
:2 – High priests are compassed with infirmities to have compassion on people and to offer gifts and sacrifices to God for people.
:5 – Is begotten the same as born?
:8-9 – Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. ~See my note on Hebrews 2.~

Hebrews 6
:12 – Another reference to following someone following Christ...followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
:19 – Hope is the anchor of the soul.
~Many references in Hebrews already to Jesus being a high priest after the order of Melchisedec.~

Hebrews 7
:2 – King of Salem = King of Peace
~~~Melchisedec chapter~~~
:16 – power of an endless life – looks like we have that power now, too! Thank you Jesus!
Hebrews 8
:6 – more excellent ministry
:13 – The old law waxes old like the old mannah in the wilderness.
Hebrews 9
:14 - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ~ I wonder how many dead works are still present in today's church.
:23 – Patterns in the heavens also have to be purified.
:27-28 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.~Ooooh boy I love this. People would have to lose some doctrines if they read this whole passage IN CONTEXT! Yes, I agree that some concepts are clear without context, but on the other hand, others can be completely reversed in meaning due to lack of context.~
Hebrews 10
:5-7 - Lo I come, in the volume of the book, it is written of me...to do thy will. ~A great song! Haven't been able to find it online.~
:20 – The veil is Jesus' flesh.
:25 – Don't forsake the assembly together (of the saints).
:32 – But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions~Sometimes I just like to quote verses we never hear preached for some reason. And this takes away the illusion of getting your harp and cloud the day of praying the sinners prayer-never experiencing another heartache or hardship.~
:38 – The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 11
:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ~Probably my favorite all time faith-chapter of the Bible.~
:10 – Abraham looked for God's city with foundations.
:23 – How could Moses by faith do this as an infant? Faith must be something above and beyond the act of believing.
Hebrews 12
Read it.  (Both ways.)
Hebrews 13
:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. ~Still healing.  Still delivering.  Still saving.  Still correcting.  Still amazing!~
:12 - There are still legitimate ministers and ministries suffering outside the gates.  Outside the city of the fellowship of the saints.
James 1
Trials, temptations, tests, talk, tongue...practical advice.
:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.~To me, every is like all.  It leaves nothing out.~
:19 - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath
:27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James 2
Have no respect of persons...as in be equal in perspective of people...treat all the same.
:17 - Faith makes you work, alright.  And certainly has works that follow it.
:22 - Faith is made perfect through works.
~~51 more pages!  Glory to God!  Hey, a day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day!  I'm right on time!~~~
p.1500 Through 1 Timothy 6
This post is dedicated to my Angels.  They know who they are.  Don't forget, to see pictures and videos, you may have to read the blog online (for those receiving this post by email).  http://readingthebibleinoneyear.blogspot.com
Ephesians 6
Armor of God
Philippians 1
:5 - God will finish what he starts in us
:15-18 - Paul doesn't care why people are preaching Christ, he's just happy the gospel is going forth.
Philippians 2
:6 - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
:6 -  who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, NKJV
:6 - Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. NLT
:6 - Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, NIV
:6 - who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, ESV
:6 - who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, NASB
:6 - who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, RSV
:6 - who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, ASV
:6 - who, being in the form of God, thought [it] not robbery to be equal to God, YNG
:6 - who, subsisting in the form of God, did not esteem it an object of rapine to be on an equality with God; DBY
~These are just some of the many translations available on http://www.blueletterbible.org
Isn't it wild how different versions say the opposite thing on the same verse???~
:25 - Epaphroditus was Paul's natural or spiritual brother?
Philippians 3
:13-14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4
:4 - Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice.
~Actually, this whole chapter is full of quotables. Read it again!~
Colossians 1
:23 - Grounded and settled in faith.
:27 - To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Colossians 2
:8 - Philosophies and traditions of men won't get you anywhere but confused!
:18 - I have met people who worship angels and think of this verse often.  Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,~in other words, don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.
Colossians 3
:14 - Love is the bond of perfection.
Colossians 4
Closing words
1 Thessalonians 1
Thank you everyone!
1 Thessalonians 2
:7 - Gentle with people like a nurse/nanny to children.
1 Thessalonians 3
It is like Paul is saying "Remember last time we were there when..."
1 Thessalonians 4
:11 - And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; ~Nothing wrong about living a quiet life!
:15-17 - It is amazing to me how many doctrines have come out of this one passage.
1 Thessalonians 5
:23-24 - Another good benediction~ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful [is] he that calleth you, who also will do [it].
2 Thessalonians 1
:5 - Suffering for the kingdom of God
2 Thessalonians 2
:11 - God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie ~ It's hard to imagine that God would do this.
:13 - chosen for salvation from the beginning
2 Thessalonians 3
:1 - I'm still praying this - for the word of God to have freecourse
:11 - I know we got those non-working busybodies still today!
1 Timothy 1
 :17 - Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
:20 -Paul delivered Hymenaeus and Alexander to Satan for blaspheming...and to learn not to.  Wow!  That's power!
1 Timothy 2
:4 - Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ~What can I add?!
1 Timothy 3
To be a bishop...
To be a deacon...
1 Timothy 4
:4-5 - I believe this, but I also believe in having wisdom on what to eat in the first place...not to require God to do a supernatural healing on us because we ate bad stuff.
1 Timothy 5
How to rebuke...
Who to honor....
:23 - AMEN!
1 Timothy 6
:6 - But godliness with contentment is great gain.
:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.~Too often this is misquoted to say that money itself is evil, when clearly that is not the bottom line of this verse.~
:17-18 - Instructions to rich people include being willing to communicate.  I've always been fascinated by that.
~~~OK, I'm on the fast-track now!  Only 3 more posts and 90 pages of reading to go!~~~

p.1470 Through Ephesians 5

1 Corinthians 16
:15 - The house of Stephanas, that is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints. ~Stephanas house was the firstfruits of his town.  And a good addiction to have!

2 Corinthians 1
:4-5 - We can help those going through what we've been through.
:9 -   But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: ~This would make an interesting sermon, "Have the sentence of death in yourself."

2 Corinthians 2
:8 - Confirm your love toward those who have sorrow.
:10-11 - Forgive, forgive, forgive so that Satan does not get an advantage over you.

2 Corinthians 3
:2-3 - Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:  Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
:6 - We are able minsters of the NT and of the Spirit.

~A chapter full of quotables.~

2 Corinthians 4
:9 - persecuted not abandoned...

2 Corinthians 5
:1-2 - For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: ~Man, I am having church by myself right now feeling the Spirit of God just reading this!
:7 - We walk by faith not by sight.
:16 - Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more. ~This is why I don't do a lot of religious "fellowship" activities.

2 Corinthians 6
:12 - straightened in your own bowels ~ Perhaps that meant their soul?  Or their center of being?  Figurative? Hopefully.
:14-17 - The famous unequally yoked passage...although it looks to me as though it refers to all relationships, not just romantic ones...to come out from among the religions surrounding them with all their idols and superstitions.

2 Corinthians 7
:4 - boldness of speech
:10 - For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

2 Corinthians 13
:8 - For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

~Just read the whole chapter if you are confused about Jesus and the OT law~

Galatians 4
:6-7 - When we have the Spirit of the Son to cry out to the Father, we graduate from being children (like slaves) to Sons, having an inheritance.
:16 - Sometimes, yes.  We are the enemy when we give others the truth.
:19 - travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you ~I really believe a true minister's most effective prayer is this travail.
:26 - But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.~You can't be an orphan in God.  We have Him as our Father, and here's our mother!
~A good chapter to study the comparison between the church and Isaac, the son of promise.~

:26 - That he might sanctify and cleanse it [the church] with the washing of water by the word,~beautiful analogy
:32 - This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.~Speaking of wives and husbands in a comparitive way of Christ and the church.
