1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Entire Book of Numbers (p.240 in my Bible)

The first word in Hebrew, Bemidbar, is the Hebrew title of this book.  It means in the wilderness

South:  Reuben's camp
West:  Ephraim's camp

Levites are numbered by males over a month old.

Levis sons are placed around the camp:
Gershon - behind the tabernacle westward
Kohath - on the side of the tabernacle southward
Merari - on the side of the tabernacle northward
Moses & Aaron & Aaron's sons - toward the east

Apparently Levites were taken instead of the firstborn to belong to God. (vs.45)  They were redeemed with money given to Aaron and his sons. (vs.48)

A man is stoned for gathering sticks on the sabbath!

Numbers 16
Here we see the mercy of Moses & Aaron, who fell on their faces asking God not to consume everyone.  Korah led a rebellion and because of M. & A.'s prayers, only Korah's family was taken in an earth opening.  But then more of the C.O.I. were plagued because they complained about God's action of judgment.
